Just as trying to sneak out, I've met Alejandro, he's one of the organizers of the BCNUTM, the underground tourist movement in BCN. They have secret points all over the city, providing information, fake glasses, underground hotels, catalan language schools, underground clubs. It's awesome!!
DAY 3: shit, the fake shades aren't working anymore!
The shades suddenly stopped working! Have no idea what to do now... Was hiding in my room all day, the area is full of controllers...
DAY 2: buying the fake BCN glasses on the black market
Didn't want to spend another 500€ for today, found a guy selling glasses for 200€, they are working as nice as the real ones. No problem at the checkpoints so far.
DAY 1: buying the BCN glasses
Just spent 500€ on the glasses. Not sure will rent them for a long time. Here's a picture from today:
Have to tell, the controlling is pretty stressful, not feeling so welcomed here. I took the glasses of for 5 mins and there already were two controllers coming to check.

Regulated Coexistence: the new tourist system
In 2040 the catalan government realised that the lack of the income of tourism is not sustainable for the budget, so they created a controlled system for tourists.
The base of the system is that each tourist has to be registered after arriving. The tool for tourism is the "Barcelona Shade", the smart glasses providing the information, planning the routes, translating, but most of all - marking the tourists, making them visible, and controllable for locals.
The city is devided into zones, you have to buy different e-tickets for different prices.
